Delta previously served SBA with daily service to Salt Lake City from August 2019 to July 2020. Since the unforeseen end of service during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Santa Barbara community has requested the return of SLC service above all other routes. Additionally, the new Atlanta route will mark the longest direct commercial flight offered in SBA's history. With these two new connections, travelers can reach more than 35 additional domestic destinations and 30 international destinations with just one stop.

SBA is one of just a few airports on the West Coast where Delta is utilizing the new A220-300. These planes will have a capacity of 130 passengers with 12 First Class seats, 30 Delta Comfort+ seats, and 88 Main Cabin seats. Some of the notable design features include wider seats, larger windows, a unique 2-3 seating layout, less carbon emissions, less noise, and monitors and power ports at every seat.

“We warmly welcome Delta Air Lines back to Santa Barbara, and we are honored by their incredible commitment to our community,” said Airport Director Chris Hastert. “This two-hub announcement demonstrates their desire to serve the needs of all travelers to/from this area with the highest level of service and connections available.”

"By reopening service to Santa Barbara and delivering more ways to access sought-after destinations throughout the U.S. West, we’re more ready than ever to take our customers on their next great adventures – with the service, reliability and convenience they’ve come to know and expect when flying Delta," said Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President – Network Planning, Delta Air Lines.

Tickets can be booked directly on Delta's website.
