Holiday Cheer at Santa Barbara Airport
The holidays are in full swing at Santa Barbara Airport, bringing extra cheer to travelers throughout the month of December. Throughout the season, visitors will notice festive décor across the airport—including a 14-ft tree, large holiday "peace" banner, menorah, and more.
On Tuesday, December 9, passengers will be greeted with live caroling from three local high school choirs. From 12:30-2 pm, students from Santa Barbara, San Marcos, and Dos Pueblos High School will fill the terminal with classic holiday songs.
Throughout the holiday season, passengers can also catch local pianist, Henry Cartagena, performing classic and holiday tunes on the piano in baggage claim. He will be performing on December 12 and 19 from 11am-noon.
The festivities continue Wednesday, December 17, when Santa makes a special landing at 4 pm! He’ll be joined by some tiny reindeer from Therapy Dogs of Santa Barbara as he hands out gifts and treats to travelers. Guests can also enjoy live music (by pianists Jacopo Giacopuzzi and Henry Cartagena), an ornament-making table, and the official "lighting" of SBA’s tree. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Lithuanian Consulate of the Central Coast will present a specially decorated tree that brings a unique cultural touch to the Terminal.
The community is also welcome to contribute to SBA’s Toys for Tots donation drive, helping brighten the holidays for local families in need.
