Regional Outage Causing Ground Stop at SBA

UPDATE 7/23/25 11:10 AM: The ground stop at SBA has been lifted. The regional outage has been restored, and communications to Air Traffic Control are back up and running.

FAA has cleared flight activity to resume operations, however there may still be some residual delays. Airlines will begin working to restore service.

UPDATE 7/23/25 9 AM: The City of Santa Barbara announced the outage has been restored. SBA's ground stop has not yet been lifted. SBA will provide updates as soon as the FAA resumes normal operations.


 The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground stop at Santa Barbara Airport due to a regional communications outage. This outage is disrupting communications at the Air Traffic Control tower causing flights to be delayed and/or diverted. SBA, the FAA and the airlines are all monitoring the situation closely so that operations may resume the moment the outage is restored.
