SBA Closed Due to Flooding

UPDATE 2/20 at 5:30 AM:

SBA will began a phased reopening today at 5:30 AM. All commercial airlines have been notified and will be working to restore service to and from SBA as soon as possible. Please check with your airline directly regarding your flight status. The terminal and parking lots are all open.

For private and general aviation: please note parking areas may be limited. Please call the SOC for more details: 805-681-4803

The airfield and surrounding areas experienced a significant amount of flooding, but we're happy to report there was no major damage. Thank you for your patience as our crews worked through the night to clean up the area as fast as possible, and thank you for flying with SBA!

UPDATE 2/20 at 2:00 AM: 

Santa Barbara Airport remains closed, but thanks to the effort of many working through the night we do anticipate being able to open early this morning. 

Please continue checking directly with your airline for update flight status as the storm event may have had impacts to the airline operational abilities abilities to resume service. 

An official Airport reopening announcement will be made as soon as possible.

Santa Barbara Airport remains closed until further notice. The airfield experienced significant flooding due to the storm and water is not expected to recede enough to open for the reminder of today. Another update will be posted at 2:00 AM. Please continue checking directly with your airline for updated flight status.

Santa Barbara Airport remains closed until further notice. The airfield experienced significant flooding due to the storm. Crews are working on accessible areas and continuously monitoring the impacted areas to begin clean up as soon as possible. Santa Barbara Airport is currently closed due to flooding on the airfield. All commercial flights have been canceled, private and general aviation operations are paused, and the terminal is closed until further notice.

Updates will be shared on SBA’s website and social channels as the situation develops. For information about specific flights, please contact your airline directly.
