Santa Barbara Airport was honored to receive one of this year’s Mayor’s Awards recognizing our commitment to advancing access and equity for people of all abilities.

Mayor Rowse presented SBA with the Outstanding Effort Award in recognition of our various programming focused on accessibility, including the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program. The Sunflower Program is a global program that supports people with nonvisible disabilities. By wearing a Sunflower lanyard, passengers can discreetly indicate to staff that they may need a little extra time, patience, or assistance. In addition, SBA was recognized for our partnerships with local organizations including PathPoint, Alpha Resource Center, and Momentum Work, INC.
